Wow, a new post. OK, it’s mostly to announce that I have moved my blog from there to here (no longer a page of my site, but front-and-center).
I’ve also cleaned up some things behind the scenes (not that you care, but hey, I did it). There is more cleaning to do, but it shouldn’t affect you in a negative way.
So, that’s it for now. Welcome to my new(ish) home. As always, I’m hoping to use it more…. Time will tell.

From today’s Rochester Post comes one of the strangest crime watch notices:
According to a police report, a tree was stolen from the backyard of a home ….
The tree may have been chopped down and taken away, the report states.
May have been chopped down? They aren’t sure? Who chops down a tree to steal it?

Sunday brought stitches for me,
Monday a broken toe for she.
Tuesday's the day for scorching hot pan
With which I have burnt my hand.

Ever try living in your own house without touching any thing? That is what I am trying to do. I am contagious.
Last Thursday, Olivia woke with a 100°ree;+ temperature. I stayed home from work with her. Friday afternoon, I felt the sinus congestion settling in my head. No biggie, just the run of the mill rhino virus.
Then woke up today with an eye crusted shut. Self inflicted pink eye.
Armed with a sheaf of paper after a quick visit to the doctor, I purchased my $60 worth of drugs — eye drops, antibodies for the sinus thing, and a refill on my allergy meds. In general I feel OK, except I can’t actually tell you what I’ve done today. The clock tells me it is after 3:00 pm. I know I watched a little TV. I have mucked on the computer. I have read. I can’t really account for about 4 other hours.
Hopefully the medicine will clear this crud out soon. The doctor did sideline me for two days, so I have tomorrow off as well. Hopefully I’ll be slightly more productive.

Just a shot of Olivia with massive static hair shaking her head
around. But really I’m just testing some Flickr/blog functions.

Some stats from yesterday’s snow storm:
- Miles driven: 60 (work to home)
- Drive time: 4 hours (work to home)
- Average: 15 miles/hour
- Top speed: 42mph
- Times snow shoveled: 3 (2 by wife before my arrival, 1 after)
- Snow fall: ~10″
- Weight of wet snow: ~million pounds (estimate)
Just to clarify, the drive statistics are one-way, work to home. Yup, it sucked.

So instead of blogging I’ve been Twittering. I plan on updating this site with a Twitter feed, but I also been planning on rebuilding this site for something like a year now; so don’t hold your breath.
The computer is still DOA. Or rather, the new motherboard was. Hopefully TigerDirect will send me a replacement without hassle and we will get things up and running before 2009 rolls around.
The only other big thing so far this year (yeah, ’so far’ like we’ve had a lot of time to try out 2008) is that Olivia is about 80% potty trained. The past 3 days we have been aggressively working on it and she has been marvelous. Today we went to the mall and didn’t have any accidents. I believe, in fact, that she only had two accidents all day. Let’s hope we can keep the trend going when we get back to day care starting tomorrow.
Speaking of tomorrow, I’ve been off work for something like 3 weeks now, and that all ends tomorrow. Sarah and I both go back. She has students, I have in-service for the week then students next week.

I’ve got accounts on various social networks now. Honestly, I’m not sure what or how to use them, and some, like Twitter, I don’t see a lot of value in.
I’ve grabbed accounts though partly to claim my online ID, party to see what all the fuss is about. In fact, I set up a Twitter account just so I can SMS to My Mile Marker.
Here’s were I’m located:
I’ll probably try to set something up in the sidebar. I’d really like to integrate everything together. Facebook, for example, lists the other networks; I’ve got a LibraryThing plug in on this site already, and I’ll probably do the same with Twitter.
