What does this say about the state of health care in the U.S. and corporations: it is easier for Sarah to get a flu shot at the Kroger pharmacy than at the doctor’s office or health care clinic.

Socially Antisocial

Walking around campus I noticed student after student walking, head down, texting away. My first thought was how antisocial they all seemed — not making eye contact or even acknowledging anyone else around them.

But are they being antisocial? After all, they are socializing, just not with anyone local. Is socializing via text messages still socializing?

Drinkability

Mixing sodas together is nothing new, especially with Slurpees, but I was surprised by the drink recipes at Burger King. Their soda machine has a color chart on it for mixes. For example, combine a 1/4 cup of Coke with 3/4 cup Dr. Pepper.

For some reason, I thought it was a really cool idea.

Not Much

I seem to always have little ideas for posts, but then forget about them or deem them not worth posting. Hence, extended silence around here.

The new job is going well. I feel very comfortable with the material — which is a relief. It’s a nice validation that I actually do know what I’m talking about. I keep feeling that there is stuff I want to change, but for now I just need to make it through a semester and familiarize myself with not only my classes, but also the department as a whole.
